Section 4 — Repeals and saving. | The Andhra Pradesh (Transferred Territories) Extension of Laws Act, 1961.

4. Repeals and saving – The following  Acts, namely:-
(i) the Madras District Boards Act, 1920;
(ii) the Madras Village Panchayats Act, 1950;
(iii) the Madras District Development Councils Act, 1958;
(iv) the Madras Panchayats Act, 1958;



as in force in the transferred territories immediately before the
commencement of this Act are hereby repealed:

Provided that such repeal shall not affect the previous operation of the
said Acts and any panchayat constituted or deemed to have been constituted
under the repealed Madras Village Panchayats Act, 1950 and functioning at the
commencement of this Act, shall be deemed to have been constituted under
(the Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Area) Village Panchayats Act, 1950 as extended
by section 3.
