INDUSTRIES) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1960

further to amend the Assam  Aid to Industries (Sm all and Cottage 
Industries) Act, 1955

Preamble. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam
Aid to Industries (Small and Cottage Industries) Act, Assam Act 
1955, hereinafter called the Principal Act, in the II of D56. 
manner hereinafter appearing ;

It is hereby enacted in the Eleventh Year of the 
Republic of India as follows

Short title, 1. (I) This Act may be called the Assam Aid to 
extent and Industries (Small and Cottage Industries) (Amend- 
commence-ment. m e n t ) A c t > 1 9 6 0 -

(2) It shall have the like extent as the Principal 
Act.

(3) It shall come into force at once.

2. In Section 2 of the Principal Act, for clause (g), 
the following shall be substituted, namely ;—

“ (g) ‘Small Industry’ means an industrial unit with 
a capital investment of not more than Rs.5 lakhs 
irrespective of the number of persons employed.”
