Re gi str ati on  Act , 1 9 3 5  (A ct I I  o f 1 93 5} .

Preamble. W hebeas it is exp edi ent  to ame nd th e Assam a«* ii  
Birth s and Dea ths Re gis tra tio n Act, 19 35  ;

I t  is hereby enac ted as follow s :— 
short t itle. 1. This Act  may be calle d th e Assa m Bi rth s

and  De ath s Re gis tra tio n ( Am end men t) Act ,

Amendment of 2 . (i )  In  secti ons 2,  3, 5, 8 and 12  of the  
e,0 ”  V ’in' Assam Bi rth s and Dea ths Re gis tra tio n Ac t, 19 35

12, is, 'i «*nd  (he rei naf ter  refe rred to as the  principa l A ct ), for 
the  words “ Ma gis tra te of the  d is tr ic t”  whe r­
eve r the y occur, the words “ Di str ict  M ag ist rat e” 
shall be su bs tit uted .

( i i )  In  secti ons 8 and 13  of the  principa l Act , 
for the word “ Ma gis tra te ” the  words  “  Di str ic t 
M ag ist rat e ” shall be sub sti tut ed .

In  sec tion  13  of the  prin cipa l Act,  the  
words “  as if such place were a di st rict  ” shall be 
del ete d.

(tv} For  secti on 16  of the  prin cipal Ac t, the  
follow ing shall be su bstitu ted  :—

sub ordina te Ma gis tra te, to exe rcise  the  
powers and to perfo rm the  du tie s vest ed 
in him by th is  Ac t wi thi n the  di str ic t or 
any pa rt ther eof  ” •

(v j In  secti ons 4,  6, 9,  10  and 14  of  th e prin ci­
pal Ac t, for  the  word “ d is tr ic t”  where ver  it 
occurs, the  word  “ circ le”  shall  be sub sti tut ed .
