(1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Industrial Establishments (National and Festival) Holidays Act, 1974.

(2) It extends to the ¹[whole of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir].

(3) It shall come into force on such ²date as the Government may by notification in the ³[Official Gazette] appoint.
