CHAPTER—I 
LPreliminary 

1. This Act ma'y be called the King George’s Medical College snd the Gandhi Memorial and Associated Hospital (Taking Qver) {Repeal) Act, 1998, ’ 

CHAPTER —IL 

Repeal of the King George’s Medical College and the Gandhi Memorial 
and Associared Hospitals (Taking Over) Act, 1983 

2. (1) The King George’s Medical College and the Gandhi Memorialand Associated Hospitals (Taking Over) Act, 1983 is hereby repealed, 
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal and any judgement decree or order of any Coust, every appointment mads, order issued, post created, astion wsken or thing done or purporiing to have been done, issued, created, taken or made by the State Goverpment or its officers under the repealed enactment shall be deemed to have been respectively made, issued, taken or done by officers or authotity or other body of the University of Lucknow empowered by or under the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Agcl, 1973 to deal with such matters. 

. - CHAPTER_III 
Amendment of the Utar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973 

3. After section 31-B of the Uttar Pradesh State Universitics Act, 1973, the following section shall be fnserted, namely :— - 

“31-C. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in 
o any other provision of this Act and in any Rjgh“‘ca":“‘g!‘ ("f other law for the time being inforce, any fments PPOC Agsistant Professor, associate Professqr. o 

Professor, who was appointed direcily or by promotion on or after July 18, 1981 but not later than Aungust-10, 1993 on adjpc basis in the Ring George’s Medical College and the Gandhi “Memorialand Associated Hospitals, Lucknow and is contimuing in sorvice as such on the date of the commencement of the King George’s Medical College and the Gandhi Memorial and Associated Hospitals 
(Taking Qver) (Repeal) Act, 1998 and possessed requisite qualifications for regutlar appointment at the time of such ad jiue appointment, shall be deomed to be substantively apsointed from e date of such ad soc appointment, 

Explanation :—For the purposes of this scction the words “Lecturer” and “Reader” referred to in this Act, shall mean the *<Assistant N Professor” and “Associate Professor”® respectively.”
