(1) Nothing in this Act shall apply to any house or rental unit owned by the Central or State Government or a Government undertaking or any other Government establishment as the case may be. (2) The Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette and for reason to be recorded in writing, exempt any area from the purview of this Act.
