of the Republic ot India. as fo1lows :-

(b) "Aided Schoo\" means an aided educational institution which is a school ·

( c ) "Education Act" means the Orissa Education Act, 1969 · Orlssa A.cl

( d) ''Managing Authority" meani:. the Managing Committee 01 the Governing . 
Body, as the case may be, of an aided educational instttution i 

( e ) "Selection Board" means the Selection lkiard constituted under the 
Education Act ; 

(f) words and expr~sions used but not defined in this Act, shall have the 
same meaning as respectively assigned to them in the Education Act or in 
the rules or Regulations framed rhereunder. 

3. Notwithstanding anything ccntained in the Education Act _or in the Rules 
or Regulations f rameel thereunder;-

(a) graduate teachers, Intermediate and matriculate teachers, physical education 
teachers and cilmical teachers and Hindi teachers of aided schools 
appointed by the managing authorities of i:.uch schools- on ad hoc basis 
on or after the 1st December, 1976 but not later than the 31st 
December, 1984 ; 

\ b J lecturers of aided college::. appointed by the· managing authorities of i;uch 
college.!. on ad hoc basis on or after the fst December, 1976 but not later 
than the 31st December, 1984 ; and 

( c ) lecturers appointed validly and lawfully in aided colleges till the 1st 
March, 1981 after termination of their ad !toe appointments in Government 
colleges, 

8[who have rendered service as such teachers or lecturers for a period. of atleast 
one year without any break or 'kith a break or breaks in one or more aided 
Schools or College.!. and who were continuing as such teachers or whose services 
have been terminated after the 31st December, 1985] save for misconduct or, ~the 
case may be, lecturer:. validly and lawfully, except those whose appointments have 
been validated by the Ori~a Aided Educational Institutions \Appointment of Teachers 
Validation) Act, 1981, shall for all intents and purposes, be deemed tc have been
