17-A. The State Government may provide for grant of repayable Advance to members advance of a sum 1[not exceeding rupees two lakh] to any person who is a member, whether or not he holds any office referred to in clause (i) of section 2, or who has held office as a member of the Assembly or Council, either for construction or purchase of residential accommodation or for purchase of a vehicle in accordance with such terms and conditions as may be prescribed.]
